You can't save me
I have been in the dark
So long by myself.
No light to be seen
No freedom
No room to breathe.
Nobody cares
I can't blame them.
Even I don't care
So why should they?
I want someone there
Someone to turn to
But nobody cares
They never have
They never will
And I'm fine with that.
But the scars linger
In my heart and on my skin
Eternally there
I can't get them off
They are here forever
Memories of my past
The times that I suffered
The misery I endured
Always here
But I smile and move on
Because even though life may be hard
I'm still alive, and for that
I am grateful.
