Tripping on Luck
Chapter I
It was a sunny day as it spread it's light on the concrete. Clouds that looked like puffs of cotton candy casted shadows onto the open land with trees enclosing a house. Sounds of loud jet engines soared in the sky that was loud enough to make anyones speech inaudiable. A sound of a door slamming echoed in the woods, a girl with long brown hair ran out of the house surrounded by hostile trees. She was dressed in a olive green tank top and blue jeans that seemed to have had better days, her skin was a caramel coloring from the sunny days, her eyes the most beautiful shade of brown. She was average height for a girl her age, her bust was rather average aswell, though she complained about it the most. The girl approached a fence with barbed wire on the tops, today was the day, the air show where the majestic F-18s soared in the skies once again as a blurr of blue and pure static sound. There was a hole in the fence where someone has been crawling through from time to time. She ripped away the brush and crawled through the hole as she ran to the parking lot of the naval airbase.
Hundreds upon hundreds of platic and steel were parked, very few had the luxury of living only a few minutes away from an navy base. Concrete barricades blocked the gate to the parking lot as she jumped over the 4 foot concrete blocks and made it outside the main gate to get in. Tall men stood with desert camo on with M-16s at their sides along with other various automatic weaponry, they wore hats aswell and what they all had in common besides how they dressed, they all had their heads shaved. Once the girl entered she had the biggest grin on her face seeing the largest fighter and transport jets. She let out a sigh of happiness as she scowered the giant base. A large helicopter was allowing people to go in the cockpit and take a look around, the girl proudly walked into the cockpit and sat in the second seat. She smiled looking at all the knobs and meters, she could've spent all day just sitting in one until the person that changed her life came and sat down next to her, little did she know, this would turn her life upside down. A boy with blond hair slowly sat in the seat, he wore a white muscle shirt wearing a shell necklace. Her looked over at the girl and smiled looking at her with gorgeous blue eyes. She was instantly lovestruck. "Hey-" The girl spoke up but rather shyly. The boy smiled and replied back. "'sup?"
"Nothing. Just, sittin' in here..." She said
"Sounds exciting." He tried not to let out a chuckle.
"It is." She smiled.
"So, what do you call yourself?"
"Jaki- you?"
"Aaron." He smiled as one of the men dressed in camo told them time was up and escorted them out. Jaki came after Aaron as on the last step she tripped and fell into Aaron's arms. "Whoa careful." He smiled down at her with his blue eyes looking at her. Jaki's face turned a beat red as she quickly stood up and brushed herself off as her dog taggs jingled. "T-thank you." She studdered slightly. Aaron smiled and walked next to her putting his hands in his jeans pocket. For what it seemed hours they walked around the base talking to eachother and about their live. "So let me get this straight... You just moved here?" Jaki said.
"Yup, my father is in the Navy, he got drafted to here."
"Oh, I see..." She spoke rather softly looking at the ground. Aaron blinked and looked at her then frowned slightly worried.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" Jaki cut him off by shaking her head.
"It's alright... He's in a better place now... Aaron. Do you believe in love at first sight?" Jaki asked rather shakily in her tone. They walked inside a hanger where a few displays were at. "Well I didn't believe in it, until I saw you." He smiled at Jaki as her face turned another shade of red. They were both at an opening in a restricted area where the two large doors met. Aaron held Jaki's hand as he brought her into the pitch black hander, only a sliver of light was shown from where they once were. Jaki suddenly felt soft lips touch hers as she knew who it was, the blond boy that caught her from her fall, the one she instantly fell in love with. It was summer time school started in a few days. Jaki felt strong but gentle hands wraps around her waist as she leaned into Aaron and wrapped her arms around his neck, she wished it would never end, just wanted the world to stop. Aaron pulled away but still held Jaki in a hug. "School's starting soon... I will have to leave. I'm sorry Jaki."
"Will we ever see eachother again?" Tears slowly started to form in her eyes though no one could see.
"We will. I promise you."
