I saw this fox once.
Black fur with ears flattened against his head.
Brown eyes drowsy and not amused.
Never paid attention to him much until a girl wanted him.
and then i talked to the fox and lead him to the girl,
who cooed and cuddled the animal that loved the attention
and would lick and n** back ever so gently.
Soon the black fur looked unmanaged and his eyes troubled,
The girl had lost interest in her little pet and moved to something new.
I would pet him and try to soothe him with words though he only wanted her
The fox was so distraught and would only mope around.
Once in awhile the girl would remember the fox, take him and love him again
Only to discard him once more,
The fox grew sadder day by day until i didnt see him much,
I realized why i hadn't seen him though,
The girl trapped him, his body wounded and he cried so softly you could barley hear it
I tried to set him free but he would only get caught again
Finally after months of this he ran away
Not wanting to be turned into a fur coat for the girl
I tried to help him but he was feral now and would bite.
After some time though he would come to me and lay his head on my lap
and again i would try to soothe him but this poor beast was drained
The fox grew better and was alive once more
though i don't think i helped much
as foxes are he would take off and come back whenever
i loved the fox, but knew i couldn't keep him safe forever
Sometimes he would come back hurt and I'll try once more to help him
I hardly see that fox now, he's busy playing with other animals now
and stays away from that girl
Though i do miss him.
