Strange, horribly-written stories from the mind of Godii
On the Topic of Rabid Bishop Fangirls (NWN2)
Any Neverwinter Nights 2 fans out there? You might know what I'm talking about. I feel like ranting, and, well, I was making an away message for AIM on something like this. It was pretty funny.

My topic of ranting today is on "rabid Bishop fangirls." Any Bishop fangirl is most definitely rabid. Let's leave it at that. (Yes, I am a Bishop fangirl.)

But in case anyone out there has no idea what NWN2 or who Bishop is, but wants to read my ranting anyway... Bishop is a (human) ranger. Smexy features, etc. etc. Really hot guy, you get the point. Who can't fall in love with Bishop?

Ah, yes, the chaotic evil, rude, sarcastic, guy-who-loves-you-but-doesn't-love-you type of guy always captures a girl's heart, right? Of course!

And because I'm bored, I'll post my funny little AIM away message. No stealing!! Okay? ^_^

Kira: By the Gods, Bishop! How many do you think there are?
Bishop: My guess? All of them, even the guys.
Kira: Oh, come on, you're not that sexy!
Bishop: Ha, ha, you wish.
Casavir: I will not have you speaking like that to her!
Sand: *sighs* Here we go again.
Kira: Shut it! We have some "friends" coming our way.
Sand: [sarcastic] Yaay~ Let's attack the rabid Bishop fangirls.

Kira is my character. A chaotic neutral/good (she got changed to good) human barbarian. Casavir is the charming human paladin (oh, I have a small story about him) and Sand is the sarcastic elf wizard. When you play and switch between characters, Sand says "Yay, let's attack" in a sarcastic tone when you're in a battle. Casavir is a paladin who dislikes Bishop very much and won't let anyone be rude to another person.

Bishop's "Ha, ha, you wish" was set in a seductive-kinda tone (anyone who's played NWN2 can imagine that... well, it's actually just his 'pay-me-back' tone with a girl.)

Anyway... I completely forgot what this whole rant was supposed to lead to (I was interrupted after the third paragraph). But let's move on to Casavir while I try to remember.

Okay, let's see. Your only romance option as a girl is Casavir, who's well into his thirties. I first heard this while playing Kira, my NINETEEN year old character. It's always your romance option liking your character, so a thirty-something year old in love with a nineteen year old? Casavir, that's very un-paladin-like. And ew. Bishop's late into his twenties, but that's not as bad as Casavir. Besides, late 20s is like, 26 to 29/30, right? I hope so.

Another romance thought: if your character is a female half-orc, will Casavir (who you team up with to fight orcs) still fall in love with you? Bishop, too. I haven't tested it yet (the game is pretty long and the romance is far, far, far into the game... it like, doesn't even exist, it comes out of nowhere).

A general NWN2 thought: if your character is a duergar (a gray dwarf), what happens when the duergars and bladelings attack West Harbor (the village the character comes from)?

Well, I still can't remember what the rant was supposed to be about, but let's go back to the original topic.

Now... is the topic Bishop or rabid Bishop fangirls? Huh. I think it's Bishop.

Casavir is your only romance option as a girl. So you spend the whole game building up influence with Bishop and talking to him, etc, etc. And your reward is getting Casavir into your bed. There's a topic in a forum on NWN2 that I found and people were requesting a module (an adventure you can make on your own) where you have more romance options. Seriously, a female dwarf and a male human romance? Unlikely. Or a wood elf and a half-orc? Even more unlikely. Romance is an important essence in role-playing games. Everyone knows that.

Strike down Casavir and let us have our Bishop!!
