Over two years:
Kaien defeated his three attackers, and rushed to help Valon in his fight against the powerful Dameon, but was too late. Valon was defeated, but he offered encouragement. Kaien wasn’t strong enough to defeat Dameon. After his team agreed to become stronger and left, Kaien took Ryu and Hina back to Konoha to introduce them to Kakashi for training. After that, Kaien then quit the ANBU lifestyle to concentrate more on his team and his training. He was introduced after Garo caught sickness and could no longer lead the team.

Hisaki’s story:

The Hisaki family was once captured by raiding ninjas, and was subjected to various torture methods and dirty work. Kaien and his brothers, however, longed for freedom. The torturing and difficult lifestyle made him very strong, and he and his two brothers revolted and slaughtered all of the raiding ninjas. They had won freedom for their family. Kaein was 8 at this time.

Since then, the Hisaki family moved into Konoha. There, Kaien joined the Ninja Academy at age 9, graduated at age 14, became chunin at age 16, jonin at age 18, and ANBU captain at age 21. The years of torture and hard lifestyle made him practically immune to torture and pain. He was a very powerful ninja, committed to all his studies. He excelled in all the jutsu categories, ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu, and was even good at using a sword. He was made captain of Team Hisaki (consisting of himself, Valon Naito, Hina Hibana, and Ryu Uchiha) when they tried for their chunin test and against the demon raid.
