The shutter snaps-
Once more, you’ve captured the side I tried so hard to disguise
And I want to stay here in this world forever
Here in my mind
--Caught in this semiconscious dreamland
(Nothing has to be real..)
Metals of gold rest upon my neck
Neither pleasing, nor joyous
The satisfaction lies in their eyes
As my insides chronically bleed
--I’ve sacrificed so much for the happiness they’ll never obtain
And you bring tears to me along with every truth I refused to see.
Notes of past anger unearth
Lining my coffee cup with bitterness
As I sip from it the poison of my hatred
--Yet I return as expected,
With a worn smile.
(Still the taste of bitterness resigns on my tongue.)
You sooth me with the lullaby I once knew
Past life’s play before my eyes
Or perhaps just dreams of longing
And you watch with happiness
As a glimmer of hope shines in my eye.
You’re the only one who ever realized..
I’m the same as you-but on my knees
While they tare my wings off-
And steal the halo you cherished.
Waves of heat tumble down
Crashing unto my body
(--Just driftwood in the sand)
--Every spare breath filled with anxiety-
As they baptize me in their selfish lies.
--The luminous moon shines above
Just out of my grasp
You gave me the stars instead.
More then I’ve ever wanted,
You now hand to me on a silver platter.
Dreams now replaced with empty memories
I’ve entered the world where dreams and reality merge
And there is no end, nor a beginning
How real am I now?
Standing in the background alone
--While the mist forms dewdrops in my hair.
(And my eyes form tears..)
Purple and black dots paint me from head to toe
--The inside now covered as well-
As I turn my veins to ice
(Still the swelling will remain.)
