Okay, this isn't really a poem, but it kind of is...:
There once lived a girl who wanted nothing but love
Nothing but to see the day when Love would take her wings and make them fly
She prayed and wept
But nothing came
And so she lived her life
Knowing, wondering
When Love would open Her doors
And let her in
Once this girl met another
Who finally allowed her to express her love
And the girl rejoiced and was forever happy
Until she learned that the love was false
And so she swallowed her heart whole
And never opened up to anyone or anything
The years passed by
And this girl began to trust a little more each day
But she would never allow anyone to see herself
As she was
Then finally, again,
Someone came
That allowed this girl to feel free and loved
And the girl wished for nothing but to stay with the one she loved
But it was not to be so
For, no matter how much the girl loved this person
She knew that it was wrong
No girl should ever love another girl
No, not that
It is wrong
Atrocious
Spiteful
And so the girl lived each and every day
Wanting, begging to be allowed to express her love
But knowing that it was wrong
The girl started to close herself up again
Slowly
Meticulously
Until the one she loved could not see her anymore
The girl cried
Tears flowed countless from her eyes
No matter how much she tried,
The tears came
Finally the girl started to not eat
She stayed home so that she would not see the one she loved
And slowly
Meticulously
She killed herself
And, one day, the parents of the girl found her dead on her bed
She had died in her sleep
Wasted away to nothing
A funeral was given to her
Only a few came
Only a few knew her
But none knew her secret
And none ever would
