Katrina shook her head widley. Concentrate!, she scolded herself. She was sitting at her desk, vainly trying to do her math homework. The problem was, that she'd start solving for x and end up dreaming of his smile. "That's enough now! He's not that cute."
"Who's not that cute?" Katrina gulped. That was mom. How come she always came in at the worst moments.
"Oh just this guy at school Tiffany likes," Katrina answered smoothly. It wasn't exactly a lie, but...., "I was just reading an e-mail, where she goes on and on about him. It was just annoying, and I was voicing my reply." That definitly wasn't the truth, but she couldn't bring herself to admit to her mom that cool, collected Katrina couldn't do her math because of a guy! She gave her mother a weak smile, hoping that her red face wasn't giving too much information away.
