Kana still looks worried. Life will never be the same. If only he would come back. I place my hands in the sand and draw a few lines. I look to Kana to see her drawing her own word in the sand. Perfect. Just as we planned. Moments turn into hours and still no sign of any motion. We sigh.
"Let's go Kana."
"Not yet..."
My brow furrows. "HE'S NOT COMING BACK! LIVE WITH IT!"
Kana turns to me, tears obviously threatining her.
"YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!"
"I DO TO! YOU JUST CAN'T EXCEPT IT!"
This time Kana chokes out a few words followed by tears. "You. Don't. Know. That."
I glare at her. "Isn't it obvious? He hates us."
"Maybe he's just..."
"JUST WHAT KANA?"
"LOST!"
I throw a hanful of muddy sand and shells at her. I don't care if she was my best friend, we couldn't live like this.
