"A story is a prism; there is more than one side to it."

Prologue…A Battlefield in an unknown location…

He shut his bleary, worn eyes briefly and opened them again to gaze at the apotheosis of a battlefield around him. Bodies and chunks of broken Cloth everywhere, and the smell of blood was overpowering, making him cringe in horror yet leaving a tingling feeling of excitement in his ocassus. Aries Shion spoke to his friend. “Dohko…we’ve…”

“Stopped him. Yes, we gained victory over Hades, I know.” The Aries Saint leaned on his shoulder. “So exhausted yet I feel exhilarated. You?” “The same, but…” Dohko trailed off as he thought about the dead. Shion’s heart fell at the Libra Saint’s expression. “Say it’s not so, friend.” “Shion, they’re all dead. We’re the only survivors.” Shion didn’t reply and ran.

A few minutes later, Dohko found his friend hugging the corpse of a beautiful, red-haired woman in gold armor. “Rheana…” He murmured as Shion buried his face against her armored chest in silent mourning. A young woman in her mid teens approached them, carrying an aegis and Nike. The Athena. “You know what you must do, yes?”

“I will use your gift to watch the seal.” “That’s right. Shion…?” “I… I will rule the… Sanctuary as Kyoko…repair the Cloths…and recruit new Saints, Aramis…” Aramis knelt beside him and wept openly, her tears flowing down her Kamui, giving it an unearthly glow. “You’ve given so much, and have yet so much to give in turn. And I…I have nothing! Tonight, I want you to have a night for yourselves before you go your separate paths. Take a night to mourn the dead. Do it for my children’s sake, for your brother’s and sisters in arms!”

She cried out passionately, grabbing Shion. Despite himself, Shion pulled her into a fierce hug, crying, “I will do it!”, “I will do it!”. All three were weeping openly now. “Lady…as our mother, please stay with us for this night.” Said Dohko, wiping his tears. Aramis nodded rapidly, and they stayed there all night, clearing the place and erecting a memorial for the fallen brethren. By morning, all three were gone and only an obelisk showed evidence of their stay.
