I found out about the death of Lord Sishio through some friends on Gaia last night.

I didn't know Lord Sishio personally. Knew of him, but can't actually say I knew him. I recall seeing his name on the bottom of the Who's Online list, and remember being truly fascinated with his "Name-A-Mod" fundraiser for his quest.

I know a few people on Gaia that knew him, which is how I found out. Some of his friends I remember seeing around in the Q&F, and in the GNA.

And I feel sad. Even worse this time, than I did for Gaia's last well-known loss - Chiharu over the summer - who I was familiar with through some friends of friends over LiveJournal and on Gaia.

I feel regretful, for not being more open, for not speaking up more and getting to know more awesome people. And I savor the friends I do have, and carry them closer to my heart than I did before.

I'm going to send a card to Lord Shisho's family... it's the least I can do.

Gaia is part of my life, whether it's a good thing or not. It's become that, and whenever a member passes on, Gaia becomes a little less whole. The world isn't as big as one might think, and through the sadness, I hope we band together a little bit more.

Sorry if I sound corny or depressing, but I felt a need to say SOMETHING, and I'm not sure if putting it in Lord Shishio's memorial thread is the proper place.
