I should've seen it coming, I should've seen the signs, I shouldn't have looked away humming. I should've read between the lines. I should've helped you through it. I should've helped you do it. I should've helped you quit. And not exhaust yourself to sleep in a fit. I should've taken away the knife. I should've saved your life. But now I look down at your coffin. There's so much I wish I would've done. I glance around the funeral and know that I'm not the only one. I shouldn't have turned my back and leave you to face the unknown. I shouldn't have let you danced with death alone.
