Gramps talked about his golf game, even though it was odvious Grandma had no interest and thought he should be talking about something that would interest me (or, better yet, her). It was as if he didn't see her, or me for that matter, like he was talking to himself outloud.
Is this what happens to people when they grow old together? Do they begin to separate in little ways until they wake up one day and discover they're all alone again? I swore that was never going to happen to me, because I'll find real-to-the-touch true love, and love that strong never ages.
