I wonder when I lost my sister. When we were both babies I used to be her guardian, now it's impossible to like her but I love her so much. She won't let me in. One day I got thistles stuck in my feet and called her. She set on the porch banister and watched me cry. Laughed, then she went inside.

Out of the blue yesterday she brought up a violent scenario. She said, "If someone shot my mother, I wouldn't shoot them. There would be no point. I would kill their little sister on her bike or their mama. I would make it hurt." She meant it and I couldn't say anything. She meant it and I saw it in her eyes. How did I lose my baby sister. She is so talented but it feels like she has one foot in the dark.
