Riven's Thoughts and Pondering
I will post some crazy thoughts and ideas I have throughout my life here!
Target's Application
I applied for Target today and was shocked and appalled by the questions they were asking. Not only were they invasive and off the topic of the job but they have completely changed from when I applied two years ago. It seems odd that such a drastic change was made in the employment application. here are just a few of the odd questions I was approached with:

48. I believe that the percentage of the U.S. population that cheats when they fill out their federal tax returns is:
1. 10% or less.
2. less than 25%, but more than 10%.
3. 25 to 50%.
4. 51 to 75%.
5. 76% or more.
Believe it or not 1 out of every 4 Americans cheat on their taxes every year. I did not know this without further research. I am wondering how and why I am expected to know this.
45. There are leaders and there are followers. Viewing myself as objectively as possible, I am:
1. much more of a leader than a follower.
2. slightly more of a leader than a follower.
3. about as much a leader as a follower.
4. slightly less a leader than a follower.
5. much less a leader than a follower.
This one is interesting in that it presents a universal truth before a question.
11. The percentage of politicians I think are honest is:
1. 95% to 100%.
2. 90% to 94%.
3. 75% to 89%.
4. 50% to 74%.
5. Less than 50%.
Honestly ZERO I believe that no politicians are honest. If they were they would not be elected into office. 'I promise' is a verbal contract and how often do the promises of these politicians ever follow through?
40. Most people:
1. are completely honest.
2. are basically honest and tell only “white lies.”
3. not sure/in between.
4. will tell you what they think you want to hear.
5. will lie if they think it will help them and they won’t get caught.
There were quite a few of these 'Most People' questions on the questionnaire they also featured some 'My friends would judge me as this or that' I personally do not know everyone in the world. I do not know everyone I do knows circumstances so to answer this question I would have to LIE and pretend that I do.
9. Traditional values of my upbringing play an important role in my life.
1. Strongly agree.
2. Slightly agree.
3. Not sure/in-between.
4. Slightly disagree.
5. Strongly disagree.
I don't know about you but my upbringing was less than traditional. My parents divorced when I was young and I was in and out of 'hospitals' I don't think I could properly classify it a good one to live by!
29. During high school, the number of clubs or organizations I belonged/belong to is:
1. 0.
2. 1.
3. 2 to 3.
4. 4 to 5.
5. more than 5.
Is this really important? I was involved in 3. There is no follow up question to ask what clubs. If I get technical I was active in 5 groups total two not really job oriented.
What grade did you make throughout high school?
1. A's
2. B's
3. C's
4. D's
5. F's
Again lacking the importance factor and I could have made all F's and tell you Oh I made All B's! Are you honestly going to check??
My view on this whole application is that the people who wrote it deserve an F.

That is definitely strange. What would've happened had you refused to answer one of the questions.
