An Echo in the Dark
An aspiring novelist's deepest thoughts. Well, most of the time. Get them while they're hot people!
Satellite
Satellite performed by Anna Nalick

Black and blue I chose my way
I, the candid castaway,
in a way delayed
by one more broken season to find reason for appeasing you
And so I found my guiding light
flambant, flashing, red and white
through a starry night
I'm better nowhere bound than drowning on your solid ground

Satellite, save my life
I'm wishing on a two-way radio
Love might be just like me
Jaded, waiting all alone
A whisper on a two-way radio

All in all I fare the same
wishing on an aeroplane
as calling stars by name
A lonely song of freedom rings
in hope of someone listening
And so I send my feeble flare
through the silent, arctic air
heading anywhere
until at last I've finally found
a place to lay my anchor down

Satellite, save my life
I'm wishing on a two-way radio
Love might be just like me
Jaded, waiting all alone
You never know
Never never

Heaven help me
I'm drowning and I can't save me
Send some salvation
to keep me alive

Satellite, save my life
I'm wishing on a two-way radio
Love might be just like me
Jaded, waiting all alone
A whisper on a two-way radio

Had that song stuck in my head ALL DAY LONG!! But guess what that means? ^^

Come on... guess!!

STORY TIME! -laugh-

Its a... complete and utter splurge off of my normal storyline..... I repeat.... it has nothing to do with the storyline in my book to be released once I send it into a publisher... sweatdrop

and yeah... its a love story stare with the characters, no duh?

Anchor
Eyes darker than the firey setting sun depised the site they took in. Everyone of them, a hypocrite: acting as though they actually cared that she brought them peace with her sudden disappearence six months ago. The scarlet eyes bore into the fears of the people that dared look his way; he, the only one who believed in her; he, the only who set out to find her when trouble arose back in the town; he, the only one who cared enough about her to ache when physically away from her.

Now though, none of that mattered. She had done the impossible and stopped the war that was plaguing the tiny village. A celebration began upon her successful return, and he could not stand the very idea.

Of course, though, she seemed happy, and perfectly neglectful of him as well. Her dark green eyes were dancing in the candlelight as her heavenly singsong voice told the gathering crowd of the perilous journey she had faced. She laughed, brushing her long white-blonde locks back into their bonds with a gentle sweep of her milky slender hand.

He just glowered, finally turning away and storming out of the village for the last time. "Never again," he hissed softly, his voice full of pain that he was forgotten once more. "She'll never see me, no matter how many times I.." he sighed, "well, doesn't matter anymore does it.. "

Black and blue I chose my way
I, the candid castaway,
in a way delayed
by one more broken season to find reason for appeasing you
And so I found my guiding light
flambant, flashing, red and white
through a starry night
I'm better nowhere bound than drowning on your solid ground

He had happened upon the village in his travels just a few short months before she vanished. He was a wanderer by nature, and not afraid of dangerous situations, as was shown in his scars and wounds.

He had wandered into the village alone that cold winter night, working his way to the water. His cloak was clutched tightly around him as though he wanted to not be seen by his next home. Forgotten. A face that just could not be put with a name. Invisible. Thats what he liked, and had gotten used to in his 18 years. But she had seen him, and followed, wondering who the stranger could be.

She was pleasent enough, feeding and tending to his few wounds with a smile on her warm face, always talking happily as though they were the best of friends. He was drawn to her kindness, and the way her rosy lips moved when they formed his name. She asked him to stay, so he did, and he grew more and more close to this place. The place he grew to call home.

But it all changes when she left. Without a word to him, or to anyone else for that matter, she just up and left. His anchor was gone.

All in all I fare the same
wishing on an aeroplane
as calling stars by name
A lonely song of freedom rings
in hope of someone listening
And so I send my feeble flare
through the silent, arctic air
heading anywhere
until at last I've finally found
a place to lay my anchor down
