I feel stupid when I see you. I know that there are a lot of things in life somebody could ask for. Maybe I just ask for too much. Whatever it is, I know I can't have it anyway. Do you ever think about our country? About how selfish we are? About how greedy we've become, or even how greedy we were before? Look at the gay marriage band, for example. Look how we morally assume that marriage is between a man and a woman. I don't know where it was ever said that, and I frankly don't care! Marriage is about love! It's about commitment. It's the feeling that two people belong together, and to nobody else. It's the way you can look into somebody's eyes and know that they want you forever, and only you. It's not just about your gender, not even your age. Marriage is a bond, and I don't think it should be a privilege. It should be a right. People who love each other shouldn't be limited to simple sex, but to what they like.
Yet we go around acting all almighty, thinking that we can say no way to gay. Thinking that we can just take over! Thinking that this should be the way it is, and if you're gay, then your screwed for a wedding, for the joy of it all. Because our country is conceited.
And I think we always have been. From the first time we set foot on land, we just figured it was ours. We just figured we could take what we wanted, and do what we wanted with it. We never thought about other people or things that reside there. We never think about something's home, and I think it's sad. Humans think that just because a bird can't get away fast enough, we can shoot it. And we do it for fun! Oh sure, I understood it when we needed to eat, but when we think we can do it for fun or for pride! How selfish is that? This country is taking little steps back, one by one, just to see what's going on. But there's still those who want to live like we did a long time ago. That try to do the proper thing. but they don't notice that those things have changed, and what may have been proper is certainly not now. I nation doesn't see what's around it, or even what it truly is. If we had ours eyes open, maybe we could learn that our lives aren't so bad, compared to others'.
