Almost done with my new lolita dress! Just need some black fabric.. stare
Mommy just went to the store and said that she's look for some. Izumi forgot to ask for interfacing though sweatdrop Oh well. Izumi can just add a few extra layers of the main fabric to stiffen the collar, ne?
The dress was fairly simple, Izumi used a 1950's pattern and altered it a bit. Made the sleeves puffy, brought the neck line up (it was almost off the shoulders) and used another pattern to add a Chinese-style collar.
The hat was hell! Izumi had 3 failed attempts to make the barret without a pattern (it looked simple enough!) but ended up with a chef hat and a bunch of unuseable scraps. There was barely enough fabric left to make the final one, which Izumi managed to dig up a similar pattern for, just had to alter the brim.
Now Izumi just needs the black to trim the collar, make a half-belt/big bow for the back, a bow for the collar, sleeve cuffs, stripe on the hat, and an under-skirt!
Just put it with some knee-highs and black Mary-Janes and the outfit shall be perfect!
Izumi can't wait to finish it! xd
