When the children sleep the fairies play
A child stirs in the middle of the night
Frightened by a nightmare the child cry's
As the tears fall and hit the ground it starts to rain in the fairies world
A flutter of wings that sound like tiny drums the fairies are there to help
They sing their magical song and sprinkle a little sand in the child's eyes
Slowly the child smiles mumbles a good night and there's peace at last for the fairies
But that only lasts a bit
The child awakes crying again
The fairies rush over and ask whats wrong
The child stops crying but only for a second to say "I miss my puppy"
The fairies think and off they go into the wind to find the little lost puppy
A little later they stumble upon a crying puppy
Whats wrong little dog? Are you lost? They ask
The puppy looks up and says "I miss my boy. We got separated"
The fairies smile and bring the puppy back to the boy and the crying stops
With a sniffily thank you the child sleeps with the dog that night
While the fairies go play their secret games
But when the child wakes, he'll remember nothing and the fairies will be asleep
