a single thread of light on the wall
a single thread in nothing at all
darkened shadows lace the room
a silence roars with a dull boom
a tattered soul, a broken heart
a shattered life, ne'er to part
icy hands, calling for fate
the warming light almost late
it reaches for she quaking with fear
shaken with darkness, a single tear
numb feelings becoming strong
wanting to sink deep in the dark throng
the light refuses to not let go
longing the love he has to show
she looks up wistfully and sighs
this one yearns no longer to live, but to die
the light won't fail, and tries with his might
pulling her forcefully to the ray of light
she looks around and back at him
the look on her face terribly grim
she drops her head as down tears stream
the light holds her close, calming the shaking teen
a few moments pass and she looks in his eyes
and falters a moment to see what's inside.
a love so pure that it warms her soul and heart
a love so strong it begs to ne'er part.
she smiles softly and cuddles close
to hear his heart, the one she loves the most
a single thread of light on the wall
a single thread of light that is greater than all.....
