Ok, I had been reading Avatar info and I read a review on the book ending, so I came up with one that may possible be correct. I am just a fan and these events might not even happen. Stars have information behind it.
The Gaang will try to come up with another plan to stop the fire nation. Everyone mentions that Aang will have to kill the fire lord* to restore balance. Aang doesn't want to do that and ends up running away to think clearly. Meanwhile, Zuko wants to confront Azula, who is currently getting ready to become fire lord*. Katara agrees to go with him while the rest of the gang are going to try to stop fire nation fleets from reaching the Earth Kingdom.
Aang ends up on an island and calls out to Avatar Roku on what to do. Avatar Roku says something along the lines of doing whatever is neccessary. Aang calls upon the two avatars before Roku and they say the same thing. He then calls up the airbender avatar before him, who helps him a bit, but not enough.
Azula is getting ready for becoming fire lord, since King Ozai decided to leave to fight in the war using the comet. He then claims himself the Pheniox King*. Azula ends up firing her workers for making her mad, resulting to her being alone. She thinks she sees her mother and throws a hair brush at her*, only to show that she isn't there. During the ceremony, Zuko and Katara come, as Azula and Zuko do a duel. Zuko mentions the lightning and how she wasn't using it, so Azula pointed at Katara. Before the lightning strikes her, Zuko jumps in and gets hit. Katara then battles Azula, trapping her.
The others then attack the fire nation ships, trying to disarm them as quickly as possible with the help of King Bumi*.
Aang realizes that he's sitting on a lion turtle* and asks him what to do. The lion turtle says wise words, something about changing the heart and Aang decides what to do. The lion turtle leaves him at the shore of the Earth Kingdom and tells him to wait for the Pheniox King and leaves.
As Aang battles the Pheniox King, he realizes he's not doing well. Aang then thinks of Katara, when he first met her. Somehow (I don't know) the seventh chakera opens, allowing him to enter the Avatar state. He then traps the King in rock and as the avatar Aang was about to kill him, the real Aang returns and spirit-bends, taking away his fire-bending powers. The first bending of its kind.
Zuko becomes the fire lord and claims the war to be over, with Mai at his side.

Several months later, Sokka wants a photograph together at Iroh's tea shop. While there, Aang confesses his love to Katara, saying he loved her since he first met her. Katara says she loves him too and they kiss. Woot, the end!
Sorry it was long, but hey, it's possible that Avatar can end like this.
