Dear Ending-
Wind slipped almost silently through my hair. I was falling…
Realization whipped through faster then lighting. I was no longer a god. I was no longer immortal. I still felt my power rippling through my veins, but the undefeatable strength I had once felt in the pit of my silent heart. But it was no longer silent either. No a sickening -THUMP THUMP- rang in my ears. I screamed. Louder then even my tortured land could manage. Yet another surprise. My stone lips were warm to the touch. Alive.
Then I blacked out. Immediate blackness over taking me. Had I been blind in life? No, I could still remember Endings lop-sided smile. Then what was it? Shock. The word echoed through my head. It suddenly seemed to be much brighter then before. Memories suddenly whipped through my head, flooding it.
Soon I was back in that autumn scene I so cherish for its clarity. Though it's slightly different…
It’s a continuation.
Leaves whipped through my hair and around my face. The hair was sticking to me. Wet. I was crying. No that word wasn’t strong enough, more like I had gouged my own heart out and the warm blood was slipping silently off my face after getting gushed up there. That was what I felt like. But of course it wasn’t blood. It was merely tears, not falling nearly fast enough.
I was alone, deep in the forest near Times. I gasped and wheezed. Pollen. I was terribly allergic to it. My eyes were swollen from the tears and I was exhausted after the fight I had had with Ending. I couldn’t even move, I cried out with no avail. My eyes fluttered, the exhaustion was getting to me. Hiking out here just to have a fight with the one you love in the season of your worst allergy is not my idea of a favorable outing.
My eyes closed eagerly, my body was screaming for slumber. Cold arms wrapped around me suddenly I was floating. Floating in the hands of an Angel, arms of cold, white and stone, definitely my type of angel. I lost consciousness soon after this angelic figure appeared.
Something or someone was trying to wake me, shaking me restlessly, as if in panic.
"Sir. Reginald…?" I mumbled groggily.
"No! Beginning! Are you awake?!"
It was not the voice I had been expecting, so I sat up in a flash.
"Who are you…?!"
"Dammit Beginning, You nearly gave me a heart attack when I saw you lying there!"
I still could not recognize the voice and my eyes were still too groggy to tell who this person was.
"I asked you a question, now who the HELL are you?!!"
"Beginning? Its me Ending!"
"Why did you come back?"
"You nearly died Begin, the least you could do was thank me." His voice had become hard and his face cold.
"Thank you? You make me laugh! You broke up with me remember? Now let me go Ending, seeing you makes it worse-the pain-."I got up to leave, tears nearly overtaking me with sobs.
His face was flooded with pain now, " Beginning, I wasn’t breaking up with you… I was protecting you."
"I told you I didn’t need protection, now leave me alone I'm heading back home."
He figure was now crushed with suffering.
"Don’t go… Beginning…"
"I don’t want to, believe me I don’t, but you said that we can't see each other anymore so I am going to".
As soon as I stepped out of his door, it was like the weight of the world suddenly landed on me. My knees buckled beneath me and I blacked out.
I remember talking to whomever it was that wrote the contract, and soon I had woken in a stranger's world. In a New World altogether. I screamed helplessly, the land screamed to. I was terrified. I was terrified of these empty fields and silent landscapes, but most of all my palace of the northern lands. With its strange carvings and echoing corridors.
The silence was horrifying. But not as horrifying as waking up to stone, frozen lips, unable to break the eerie silence.
I cried for a long time after that. It was very strange. It felt as if the empty corridors and fields, forests, ice sheets and oceans were all crying with me.
It was as if Mother Nature her self was in pain.
