In this dream, I woke up sitting on John's couch wrapped in a dark blue fleece blanket. The first thought to enter my head: What the hell am I doing here? Then John comes running down the stairs and says, "Oh, good, you're awake." I nod and try to say something, but nothing comes out. I clutch my throat and try to speak again, but my voice cracks and I can't talk. At this point, I almost start crying. John sits next to me and hugs me, saying something that I don't remember. He smiles, then gets up and goes into the kitchen to do something. I turn and look out the window. It's a gorgeous morning; never before had I appreciated the sun as I did looking out the window. I looked at him and said, "Can I go out there?" in a barely audible, hoarse whisper. John looks at me with this confused expression and says, "Well, sure..." I wrap myself up like a burrito in the blanket and stand up. After a few steps, I feel my legs buckle beneath me and I collapse. John runs over and helps me up, then takes me out into his backyard. He goes back inside, then brings out a mug of hot chocolate for me. I hold it in my lap and just stare up at the sky. He keeps trying to talk to me, but I can't reply. All I remember after that is falling asleep outside.
