Well I haven't updated in awhile.
*laughs nervously and falls over*
WEll, everyone, these last few days have been REALLY busy for me.
I've been working at MAD camp for the local arts college.
(music arts and drama= MAD)
And though I'm a huge theatre buff, I've been helping teach the ceramics and stained glass class.
Ceramics is pretty easy. You just have the kiddies build ccrap out of claya nd give them tips on it so it doesn't explode.
However.... Stained glass is evil.
Day one and two, I was cracking bottles in half for the kids to carve on.
Then, day three and four, we were putting glass eating glue on the glass to make patterns.
Five: We soddered (yes with melted lead and soddering irons for each child) the edges of their glass to make it not sharp.
Starting on day five also, we took out pretty coloured glass.
One boy was running with a piece and sliced his hand open. THis was a first injury. The second followed soon after.
I was picking up a large pane of opaque blue class and sliced teh top of my left pointer fingers wide open. I rushed to put a band-aid on, but it kept bleeding and bleeding. It squeezed it and held it above my heart and raan all the way from teh art building, to teh main office/theatre.
Well, that's about a half a mile run, so when I got over there I was dizzy and out of breath. I was still bleeding nad we had to wash it and bandaged it up. ANd it finally stopped bleeding after abou 20 minutes.
I got back to the art building (via van) just as the new class was starting.
Kids picked out their patterns and we taught them how to cut glass and have only had a few more injuries since.
Tommorow will be the second to last day. It will also be my birthday. ^^ I'll be 16 at last! *does a dance*
My party will be on Saturday. A costume party.
