Today was my IEP thingy for my SPED classes (I.E L.A and Math.) My test scores for L.A came out as passing with flying colors for the L.A the testing only checks for learning capabilitys up to the 12th grade and no higher. While Math i do belive goes up to 9th or higher...I scored like 6th grade for computation and 5th for word problems... sweatdrop .
BUT!! for LA class due to my high reading and my lack of motivation to show that i CAN do the work im gonna stay in SPED and read my books doing work that interests me for that subject while i still stay in SPED for math. And my teacher wants me to be out of the fractions math book thing that im in by like the end of dec. or end of Jan. She made that goal of her own forthcoming and assinged it to me weither i liked it or not..
It sorta really ticked me off when they refered to doing day to day things as 'jumping threw hoops.' cause i took it as being a trained dog obeying the beck and call of society and that just don't sit with me, cause i aint no one trained dog.
My mom, teacher and case worker person Juleen tryed to talk me into getting me motivated to do my work even if im bored with it. (didnt work though.) And they also spoke about checking my grades like everyother week....
BUT im glad that i got to do a different reading plan cause all the books that the school has other then the books that i read all the time are boring. Mr. Howard teaches 10th and 12th grade L.A and told me to show him all the books that i read or that i was reading right then. I showed him Eragon, 2other books and my Dark Elf trilogy and said that if i could read and understand that big of a book it looked like i had no reason to even be in the L.A classes the school were giving but as it dictates i have to have 4 credits of L.A each year so im staying in SPED but just doing a lone reading thing.
