Matt has been good at every sport he ever tried, except golf an badminton, which he doesn't consider sports. He does okay in school, but is surely not as smart as Jeffie. Before the war, Matt didn't know any of the main characters except Jeffie, because she tutored him, and Kayla, who happened to be his girlfriend. He's super popular and every girl wants to date him, but he's with Kayla.
