For a long time I have had wings to soar
The fading memory of beginning from the floor
Clouds in my path and a view of what's around me
The fading memory of dirt and ash I used to see
Starting from the bottom has made the sky seem gold
The dream of one day flying has now since been sold
I am the owner of what's beautiful and my own life
I pilot myself with wings and determine my own flight
The roots that once did bind me have since been broken
I was shriveled like a seed with no water to soak in
Now I soar high with the occasional rain surrounding me
Free to drink as I please and be who I want to be
I move fast and have no destination in sight
I fly gracefully by day and sleep peacefully by night
Where am I heading and when will this end
I think I will help someone beneath me and make a new friend
Push off of the ground with all of your might
Push off of the ground and learn to take flight
Come my friend and join me in the breeze
Let me show you how it feels to finally be free

- Description: An uplifting poem I wrote. Most poems on here are love based or depressing so I thought gaia could use something more joyful. Favorite me if you want more. Enjoy! ~ Seltzer Cole

- Well, I cannot say I like this one. It has a semi-clear message, but the flow is really off to me.

- I love the imagery here too. The only suggestion would be to change something in the first part. It seems to not flow in my head.
