Baile Atha An Ri To Me Judging By It's Sky
The sky of Athenry is a restless beauty, a blessing gateway overlooking the endless green fields, caressing farmer’s land with distinct rays of light. Devilishly divided by the modern damages of civilisation, concrete and tar destroy the work of ages. Tax payer funded, accountant founded hell bent to represent the damage of the green tiger..
The sky of Athenry is a shared beauty, a halo in it’s circling glares the ground of Galway, be it a bed of water to fuel the Galway City port, sent with friendly intentions from the neighbouring oceans, or a deep engorging of cloud fragmented sunlight. The clouds flying graciously with pure intentions, gifting endlessly cool breeze in the boiling dismay of a sunny day, or a down pour of revitalisation on the malnourished natural features of beautiful Galway.
The sky of Athenry is an escape, a portal for the mind, to take us to a world unspoilt and riddled with tranquillity. Eye candy by initial indulgence, however with time forming a sanctuary unforgettable and unmatched. No other view painted with so many blotches could offer so much clarity and satisfaction.
The sky of athenry is a curse, in the mind of the blind, as a mind without visual fuel pumped from such a sight couldn’t possibly comprehend, or begin to reform from nothing the quite so, lustful experience. Experience, being a word only undermining to the life colouring light that dribbles in beams from the sky, the sky of Athenry.
The sky of Athenry is a gem.
Of which there is only one,
But brings great company to many,
Priceless, and matched by none.
Athenry’s sky cannot be taken,
Athenry’s sky cannot be mistaken.
‘No other can match the unmatchable, a purity reflective of heaven.'
Athenry’s sky is Wonderful.

Description:
I'm half Irish, and was raised for a small part of my conscious childhood in Athenry. I can't deny the beauty of it, and on this occasion could not repel the compelling sensation to write about it. Enjoy :)
