Sweet Dreaming
When I'm lost in my own world,
I've never felt so found.
I've seen a world of my own imagination,
witness; to a new sensation.
In a darker world,
I seem so alone.
But in my mind,
so much more at home.
In a happier place like my dreams,
while I'm still fast asleep..
My cravings ease to defeat,
my enemies weak at my feet!
My fingers rock to the beat,
of a heart timed drum.
A lifestyle kept neat,
by the rules of my own mind.
Dare to feel,
or try and define in your own mind;
The wave in which your imagination rides,
to ease you from the shackles of a teenage slave life.
For while you're in a sweet dream,
you're at your rise,
your most powerful.
So send your light like a beam,
blinding to the witnessing eyes,
and even make the ones you no longer trust
hit their most pitiful.
So from now and forever, remember,
a dream is most beautiful,
and an escape from life,
that could only be a nightmare with shackles.
But locks aren't always locked,
your chains are no different.
Use a day dream,
your sweet dream,
to ease the weight and float away.
Leaving a crate of nitrate.
Let it go bang.
Now your favourite songs been sung,
and like a bird you twitter on.
BANG AGAIN.
You're in english,
crapping yourself.
How'd you miss this?
Why did they ask you this?!
Oh! Phew, miss dismissed it.
Your world's back.
Man, what a scary attack.
At least now you can rest at ease.
Sweet dreaming.

- I've got a few poems I've written, some aren't as good as this one. This is a personal favourite, but I'm going to try and upload a poem I've written every week on a monday, starting this monday coming smile Maybe even a bit more often at the beginning, just to get the not so good ones up here just to get a critical eye. smile I hope you enjoy reading everything I post all the same though! Take care- Jack
