-
hidden from fear, hiding from shame,
even though you took all the blame,
you hands were locked in heavy chains,
your tears were hidden by the rain,
you looked at me, I saw your eyes,
they told me simply, your afraid to die.
Your death's a sentence, I couldn't bare,
though no one seems to be aware,
around your neck they place a noose,
it wasn't tight, its wasn't loose,
yet still it's taught, around your throat,
your life's song, began its final note.
Tears were brimming in your eyes
the air was filled with angel's cries,
the ground opened beneath your feet,
it is a death no one could cheat,
and frozen in horror, I watched you go still,
I was stuck in place, against my will.
I stood there in anguish, I stood there in pain,
I simply stood there, soaked by the rain
