The match is struck,
The candle is lit,
The tears fall,
The girl remembers,
Remembers her friends,
Remembers watching them,
Watching them fall during battle.
A cannon ball is fired,
She’s out,
She sits on the side lines,
Her friends get back into the game,
While she sits, alone
Alone, nursing her wounds.
She gets back in the game,
and throws the last dodge ball,
they win, the enemy looses,
they plan to fight another round,
but not until they have lunch.
So, they clean up,
And all have sandwiches,
As if life were that forgiving.
On the battle field, unlike dodge ball,
Once you fall,
you don’t get to go back after five minutes on the bench.
Life’s not that easy.
Only if it were,
The world would be so much more easier to live in.
You hear a faint scream,
Like a whisper,
That rings into the night,
A call to arms
Against something that you
Have no control over.
People, running, running, running
Like a race horse, running, running,
Away from the absolute end,
But still, get swallowed,
No matter how their frivolous attempts
Take them running, running, running farther away.
The sun has been long-since blotted it out.
I see the girls screaming, the boys yelling,
The world crashing down.
Atlas has run from his call, into the bitter, bleak, boring blackness..
The bitter blackness that is a super massive black hole.
Zeus's muses can't save us now.
We are alone, we must rise up,
Fight back.
Fight for what's right.
Fight for what's right.
The dark tendrils of the cloud encase me as a spider encases its prey.
The world is now a forgotten field of ashes, never to be there again.
I have lost all my friends.
They are still running, not wanting the inevitable to happen.
They join me now, they all whimper in fear.
The time ticks away,
Tick-tock, tick-tock,
Tick-tock, tick-tock,
Tick-tock, tick-tock,
Tick-tock, tick-tock.
The tick-tock of the clock must sound like a cannon.
Can you not hear it?
Can you not hear it?
The world has turned into the nothingness,
Lost forever, lost forever.
I walk up to Death, waiting for his judgment.....
Next poem…..
When the world comes crashing down,
The damage of what is left is profound.
I crouch down on a heap,
The world withers as I weep.
Everyone I know is knocking on death’s door.
They will soon be no more.
The morning doves fly overhead,
Cast into the sky with nowhere but the ground to land.
But I am not soaring, I am mourning.
I do not wish to acquiesce to my sorrow.
No matter my frivolous attempts to escape it,
it consumes me whole.
The mountains that were once jagged as a key are no more,
The mountains are now rolling plains.
Everywhere I look,
There are nothing but remnants of the past, looming like monsters in the dark.
I crouch down on a heap,
The world withers as I weep.
My life now is but a morbid plain.
As the wind whispers a name…
A name I do not recall… lost in the bawling wind.
A name I am trying to recall as I fall….
I land in a desolate meadow.
Where I meet a kind fellow.
But as I try to shake his hand,
He dissolves back into the dead land
I crouch down on a heap,
The world withers as I weep.
The rivers are dried up, as are my tears.
No more time to worry about my fears.
I crouch down into a heap,
With the world around me,
Flat like a piece of paper,
Never to weep again.
The world that I was a part of is now gone.
I am now knocking on death’s door.
I will soon be no more.
Next…
The roses go from bright red, full of life
To a darker red, almost crimson.
They are slowly wilting, dying
They die as my heart dies.
The roses that once held fragrant aroma are no more,
Now, is the smell of dead flowers.
My happiness flees into oblivion.
The darkness consumes me
As it does the flowers’ color.
They are now dark red, like dried blood.
As the blood flows from his wounds,
The tears flow freely from my eyes,
Uncontrollable, unable to be tamed.
By neither man nor any other master.
All the same, still un-ignorable.
But as my tears spill out, so does his blood.
I will mourn forever the passing on my brother.
