So I lay, knowing nothing but defeat,
loss sounded only by the fairer sexes weapons silent and foul,
flesh battered and tearing as any creature could.
so I wondered if my legs could bear the weight,
of so many cumbersome blows, dealt as swift, so quickly and smooth,
by the harlot that heralded so close to my heart and hearth,
poised about me as the few that are allowed,
and dashed a blade about my heart, many times fast,
until tatters remained of my once majestic soul.
I have known battlefields upon which the dead sunder to block out sun from kissing the earth,
and upon those even,
my eyes can grasp the beauty of such a dread ending so fast, upon the cooling soils.
And yet, I pale.
to think I so foolish, to allow such rot upon my own kindred spirit, but the wills of a woman,
so insipid and vile!
What of my kindred earth? Will any flowers so blossom upon my heart, after such grave occurrence?
can prosperity unfurl in anyway?
The lands are scared, but no force salts the earth into the eventual deserts of vast resides.
My feet bear my wake as I stand.
and are so they mutter, from what breadth they can.
to strike forth upon this wake, these light rocks so crushed into grain by the bosom of the heaving Earth.
and set my own path, upon these lands, finding what verdance they so deliver.
But the world is silent.
and my voice is feeble.
with a trembling hand, I grasp the sands, and throttle what knowledge I can from them.
they give me no hints, they give me no signs, but I have the means, and by all right, I strike what is long gone and forgotten from the minds of the earth.
so save me grace, forsaken I am not, for blood courses through my veins, and vigor drives me on.
