the group
of trees
swayed to colors
of life
and love
for years
but things have changed.
they sway
now
with vengeance
spite that burns
the soft
warming hues
of history
now discolored
drunk
immorality.
These trees
a group of
brothers
now turned against
roots of
poison
tangled uncertainty.
they destroy
themselves
not with bombs
or war
but suspicion
attitudes
unspoken thoughts
prejudice.
tasty blame
on others
that
soothes
us to false logic.
Hate, though slow
green health
to
dark blue
oil spills
in the ocean.
I watch the group
i know
it will soon
happen.
Everywhere.
