-
You sit silently, the faint sound of your breathing
Your eyes are clear on the outside, but no inner thought
Just a distant look that freezes my heart
I stare at my father as you stare at the ceiling
Wondering when you'll remember him or me
How could age steal your memories
Do you remember your life as a young man?
Or do you remember your lovers and children?
Do you recall when you had recognition of your self?
It hurts me that you can't find your mind
And so does the fact that you don't remember me
But what stings more than anything
Is that I never got to know the real you
