Take a Trip Back in Time
To a Tale as Fearful as Landmines
Spiraling Wind’s Dreadful Result
Here Begins Katrina’s Assault
A Warning Heard by a Family of Four
When Finished They Went out the Door
And Gathered Enough Wood for the Creation of ten Idols
and Attached it to Every Window While the Children Idle
Blue Skies Turn Gray as Rain Poured Down
Hitting Rooftops, None Were Sound
Roaring Winds, Started the Mess of a Great Parade
all was Collected, Damage is Made
Inside the Make-Shift Fortress Home
Brother & Sister’s Fear Described Like a Horrific Tome
Minutes Were Hours and Hours Were Days
as the Wood Held Strong, Keeping Terror at bay
During night Struck the final Hour
The Nightmare Ends Losing its Power
The Sunshine Rose and Showed the Result
Here is the end of Katrina’s Assault

- This is really good. I'd love to talk to you about Hurricane Katrina. I know your poem is from the point of veiw of someone that was actually there. Where you? If you get the chance I'd love to hear about what it was like.
