To the rose that blooms in silence:
Do you find much comfort there?
In the velvet darkness, you hide
Seeking solace from the ails of the world.
Tell me, silent blossom, is it worth it?
Does the darkness caress you softer than I?
Solitary rose, do you fear the gaze of strangers
And seek the solace of the stars?
The darkness cannot love you as I can
And stars cannot know you as I do
Is the comfort of the dark
Sweeter than the solace in a soft embrace?
Does the symphony of the night compare
With the skylark’s dulcet melodies?
Do you find the moon hides all the flaws
That the sun so unmercifully reveals?
Your shimmering ramparts, cool and aloof
Indeed keep out all that may seek to harm,
But in the same stroke confine you
To self-imposed solitude.
The warmth in your ivory tower
Will never, in the end, warm your heart
Do not fear, my silent beauty, the stirring of your heart
They are the echoes of my love, resounding within you
Embrace them, do not shun them - I beg of you
For my life begins when you smile at me
The gleam in your eyes lights a fire in my chest
Your slightest gaze sets my heart aflame.
Fair rose, the night is just beginning
Come out, and see the stars.
Open your soul to the sky
And see eternity stretch out on all sides.
Savor the moment, drink in with your senses
Come away from your solitude
Come away with me

- ...I don't think I've been that pulled into a poem since...well, ever. The choice of words and emotion beneath them is absolutely stunning. It's an amazing poem. Truthfully, it is. :] 5/5
