Dreaming to the beat
of the rain
dancing
on the backs of the naked streets,
as one
by
one
they all joined in with the harmony
of a million strong.
As the rhythm went on
several
weeks long,
the water rose and streets went down.
Have I been asleep this whole while?
Then dawn bore a sun
and I woke
to find
my bed floating on an ocean of song.
As inch
by
inch
the current breathed a beautiful chorus,
I lay and listen.
The tide went calm
several
weeks long,
the water guided my dreams sound.
Have I been asleep this whole while?
The river washed me
to the sea,
and swiftly
the gentle tide was replaced by something angry,
as wave
by
wave
the water crashed upon my bed.
Beneath the covers, I hid.
The storm screamed fierce
for what
seemed like years,
I was soon led too far from any-
where I could have imagined myself
to be-
until I have been forced from my com-
fortable space and pushed out to sea,
as I search for signs of land or some-
thing
at least
familiar.
I never wanted to be home so badly.
Laying in my bed,
looking out my window,
and…
Dreaming to the beat
of the rain
dancing
on the backs of the naked streets,
as one
by
one
they all joined in with the harmony
of a million strong.
As the rhythm went on
several
weeks long,
the water rose and streets went down.
The water rose and streets went down.
The water rose and streets went down.
The water rose and streets went down.
