When I take my last breath
When I finally go
Please don’t play dress up with me
At my funeral
Please throw out the make-up
The lipstick and the paint
Leave my skin a porcelain white
My flesh you will not taint
Don’t decorate me in satin
Or a frilly dress of lace
Give me something comfortable
To wear to my resting place
Please don’t corrupt my body
Or the image I’ve designed
Leave me remembered as who I am
In the life from which I resigned
