Little boy loves little girl
Suddenly they parted ways in a world's swirl
The boy's unspoken words were left
But the girl's white roses were kept.
As seconds grow into minutes; minutes into hours
Hours into days; days into weeks
Weeks into months; months into years
Roses became withered
But never will be the fine memories.
In her dreams filled with stairs
There she wandered and wandered
Till she reached the end of steps
Soon she caught an eye of the unknown
After a few seconds of looking
The guy gave her a melting stare!
Then she woke up the following day
Kept thinking of the boy who came her way
Until the withered roses fell out of nowhere
In a sudden tears were dropped on the bloomers.
One day the girl collided with the boy
Her heart jumped and was filled with joy
Her mind took reminiscence
But all weren't recognized
She was just a simple acquaintance
And her yearning was neglected.
She wanted to slap him and burst into weeping
But she did remember the roses and try not to mind the suffering
She hide herself to an unknown corner
Where her tears were turned to a river.
Time and distance became such friends of her
She was turned away from the boy's side
God's arms carried her to places of haven
There she learned to live her life again.
"Now even if the melody still have its glow
And the lyrics still speak of love I know
Pain could still be remembered
But I can't feel it anymore
'Cause I've learned to love myself even more.
I am here and you are there
Hope we'll stay like this forever
And never intersect into burden
'Cause the past is a scar soon to mend."

- Title: White Roses
- Artist: Shamielle
- Description: I wrote this poem almost 2 years ago and is dedicated to my childhood sweetheart, Michael. Now that Valentine's Day is coming up, I've thought of reminiscing every sweet moment we spent together, the "kilig" moments, our undying good chemistry and the beauty of our young bittersweet romance.
