She screamed, she cried, burst out in tears,
Taken from her home
No longer free to walk the streets,
No longer free to roam
Many were locked up on the train,
Like cattle transportation
Children cried, mother’s calmed
In this horrid situation
This was the hell of every Jew
In this nation of hate
Millions killed and left to die
To suffer this painful fate
The camp was a Jewish prison
And she was a prisoner
Forced to work only to live
Life passing as a blur
On the streets lay dead bodies
Of the young and the old
Children orphaned, clinging to life
And mothers with no child to hold
People would ask if she had any food
And she’d reply “Sorry, no
I’ve nothing to spare, for even a bug,
For my work, nothing to show”
She’d pray when she could, try not to cry
Struggle to keep herself alive
But the longer she stayed, the harder it was
To cling on and survive
This was the hell of every Jew
In this nation of hate
Millions killed and left to die
To suffer this painful fate
Rumours said they’d all be saved
Troops coming to free them all
Her spirits lifted, she prayed some more
For the evil forces to fall
Time had passed, days to weeks
And then a month went by
Some hopes dropped, but she still believed
And kept her hopes up high
Then one night, sirens whaled
The fateful day now came
She awoke and saw tanks roll in
She would finally be saved
She snuck out, crept around
Troops only around the bend
But that one gun shot, ringing loud
Brought her life to an end
This was the hell of every Jew
In this nation of hate
Millions killed and left to die
To suffer this painful fate
He screamed, he cried, burst out in tears,
Taken from his home
No longer free to walk the streets,
No longer free to roam

Description:
Hate and despair was all that many people in Germany live on. Millions of Jews lost their lives.
(BTW, the last part may be confusing. It means that even if one camp was destroyed, Jews still had to fight because there were more.) - Date: 12/23/2008

- This is a great poem. One of the best poem I read off this site so far. Keep up the good work.
