I drift in and out of
[tab]shifted dimensions,
holding hands with distressed
conventions and marking time
with faded dials. Let's dress the Nile
in red, and drown her beauty in
less-than-desirable remembrance
that might hold some semblance
to God.
Driven into lack-luster miracles
and deafening statistics,
it's no surprise I'd find you here,
barely breathing in a yes-no-
maybe question answered by the color
of your eyes when we
rescue the moonlight.
Drink me back to the days
with Thai food from Vietnamese
restaurants, and pull those shades
over my head.
Maybe we'll look like we're sleeping.
