The innocent I protect,
Never lose your hope,
Things will work out in the end.

You mean so much,
I would die if you cried.
But I can’t be near.

How can I protect my Raven?
What can I do to keep you smiling?
What do I have to give?

I made a promise to be your guardian,
To be by your side forever,
I will never give up that promise.

Sweet little Raven,
Please don’t ever cry.
Keep flying high, even through the rain.

I’ll see you on the other side soon.
I am your Guardian,
The Fallen Angel.

I really loathe free verse, but this is a beautiful poem. The stanza with all questions makes it all the more interesting. It's a bit wordy, and I think you could have used a bit more variety in the way of words, but I still really like it. 4/5.

mm. I love it when people use metaphorical names for their friends and loved ones. I have written some but, as a rule, I do not keep a copy for myself since I no longer view it as belonging to me. ( :
