tab "Do you think I don't now that," I growled coldly. "Only reason I'm here is the Vampires plaguing the town." The second boy paled at the word Vampires and the one who had spoken flinched. I caught both reactions and my normally hazel brown eyes flashed a dangerous dark red.
tab One of the Vampires I had come to the town hunting for was my brother and the other was a guy that was a pure Vamp that had been corrupted. I was also part Vampire but just a Halfling, a mutt. Blood wine and human food sustained me so I had no need for blood. Blood wine wasn't really necessary but it kept my senses sharp and that was very important for my job.
tab I pulled my shovel out of the snow and tossed it onto the porch. That done I turned away from the boys and headed towards the barn. That was the only safe place for me to hide and operate from. It was not a good idea for a Hunter like me to be staying in a tavern room when so many people feared the likes of me.
