Wow! That's a really good picture! It looks sort
of 18th century, which is a good thing. THis is
probabally off from what you were trying to get
at, but to me it seems that he was a sailor, fell
in love with a mermaid, and loves her so much that
he is willing to drown, so that he can be with her
forever.
